WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT ME
I want to enjoy the world as much as I want to improve it. I want to enjoy my work and I want my work to have meaning. I like functional design and I love emotional design. I’m the happiest outside in nature and the happiest creating. I can’t have one or the other, I’ll always strive for both.
DREAMING OF ABSURD INVENTIONS
I just wanted to challenge myself creatively. Could I come up with something that doesn’t exist every day? No restrictions on whether it could be fabricated or not. Just something that would be fun or useful to dream about having in our world.
OBSESSED WITH A TIMELESS ICON
The thing I love most about Vespa is what it stands for; the perfect blend of function, emotion, innovation and craftsmanship. It amazes me that after 70 years, it still feels fresh, desirable and more useful than ever. That is the power of a great brand and a great design.
A WINNING DESIGN
In 2018, Dribbble sponsored a design challenge for the Yosemite Conservancy, a non-profit organization that funds restoration, research, and protection programs for the park. We had a week during the event in Yosemite to create a logo for the non-profit and mine was the winning design! I was deeply inspired by a week full of outdoor activities in the park and the natural beauty of the sun rays on the rock formations at sunrise.
TRAVELING WITH MY FUJI CAMERA
What I love most about photography is that it makes me fully present to my surroundings. When I have my camera hanging around my neck, I'm on the lookout for beauty and joy. The potential of it makes me look through the lens—and that's when I can see it more clearly.
My first variable font!
I had never created a font, let alone a variable font but that’s what I did for this year’s #36daysoftype in 2023.
The form and angles were inspired by an old logo sketch, which I was always curious to see come to life.
EXPERIMENTING WITH AI
I’ll admit, I wasn’t all that excited about AI, until I tried Lovable. I wasn’t sure what the future held for designers, but with tools like this that go from prompt to code, it’s clear that design will be more essential than ever in product development. Good taste, strong product vision, and soulful branding will be what set countless products apart.
A Meal Planner
My wife and I used Apple's Notes App for our grocery list. However as time went on we started adding recipes and planning a week ahead of meals. Neadless to say the note has become a pain to update and manage.
